Community Facilities Update Video

On Thursday, February 27, 2020, Canton Local administrators, along with the architect/engineer, GPD new middle school imageGroup, and CMR Beaver Constructors presented an update on the current design status of the new Canton South Middle School and proposed improvements to Faircrest Memorial Middle School.  Watch video here

This project is in partnership with the state’s Ohio Facilities Construction Commission and will be located just south of the high school on the same property, creating a middle-high campus. The new facility is slated to be completed for the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Note: The district will not be asking for new funds (bond or operating) for the construction of the new school or the updates to Faircrest. The school is being built, and Faircrest renovated, with funds in part from public utility property tax revenue along with money from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC). There will be a request for a renewal of an existing issue (no new taxes) in the spring of 2021.
