All-call text from Mrs. Bartley Walker Principal 4_03_2020

Good evening Walker families.

On Monday, April 6, we will distribute devices to those students who are in need of technology.  Those receiving devices have already been contacted by their teacher.  The times of the pick up are:

9:00-11:30        Kindergarten and Grade 1

12:00-2:30        Grade 2 and Grade 3

3:00-5:30          Grade 4 and those that could not pick up earlier

We ask that you enter on the west side of the parking lot closes to the playground, follow the perimeter of the parking lot and line up in front of the school.  There is a map in our newsletter and on our web and Facebook pages that shows the entrance and exit procedure.

Again, we will only be providing devices to those students who do not have resources at home.

Please continue to reach out to me via email if you have questions.  Thank you.  We appreciate your patience and support during this unique time. I hope you are safe and well. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

All-call text from Mrs. Bartley Walker Principal 3_30_2020

Good evening Walker families, During the week of March 16, teachers reached out to families to find out what type of technology is available at home. Based on that feedback, we created a list of students needing devices.

Text of all-call sent 3_18_2020

Learning packets with activities for this week and for the week of March 30 were sent home with students last week. If you need to pick up a packet for your child, Walker is open this week from 8:00-noon. Next week, our building will be closed due to the previously scheduled spring break.

In the next several days, you will be receiving either a phone call or a Remind message from your child’s teacher. Please take the time to answer their questions as it will help us plan for remote learning and enable us to better meet the needs of our students. Specifically, this will help us determine which students need an electronic device (per Mr. Milano’s phone call last evening).

While these are uncertain times, we do want to be proactive in planning learning that will continue to foster your child’s growth. Please continue to visit the Canton Local School District’s website at cantonlocal.org. More information will be forthcoming the week of March 30.
